West Cliff Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

Beautiful historic home. The breakfast choices were limited but pretty much something for everyone . The egg dishes and baked goods were excellent. We enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese. I didn't notice when I made reservations that the room was ADA. I did appreciate not having to go up and down stairs (old knees). The ADA room (#2) was fairly small. No dresser or closet. There is a wardrobe with a couple of drawers. The wardrobe is almost full between the robes, comforter, and a clothes steamer they provide leaving little space for personal items. The corner gas fireplace was functional and charming. The bathroom was large and I love the huge walk in shower. I would suggest that a folding table be available since there isn't a vanity, just a pedestal sink (ADA room) or maybe a second set of wall hung shelves for toothbrushes etc. The provided bathroom products are really nice. This room does have a wonderful view of the beach and boardwalk. We met family there and they had a huge room on the 2nd floor with a jetted tub. There's a lovely room on the main floor, maybe the original parlor, that we really enjoyed. I had coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon with sea breezes and ocean views. This would not be my choice for a place to take children. The staff were all wonderful. Parking is limited and tight. I wouldn't recommend a truck. They've made the best of the space that is available.

The location was terrific. The room was very nice as was the partial ocean view. We really enjoy the Four Sisters hotels; very nice accommodations, casual atmosphere, very accommodating staff, almost like being a guest in your own home. The evening wine and crackers were very nice and the chocolate chip cookies were fun to look forward to.

The breakfast looked great. We could not stay to eat, needing to get back home, but the chef makes "to go" morning breakfast sandwiches that we were able to take on the road.

The hotel is beautiful and historic. It's conveniently located for the beach and the wharf, but I was disappointed that it was not directly on the beach (I had assumed it was, based on the photos). We had the room at the front of the hotel, so the view was still very nice. The breakfast was delicious, but choice limited. Wine and cheese at arrival a nice touch.

Front desk was staffed all day and into the early evening, and the staff was very helpful. We loved the chocolate chip cookies on arrival and thoughtful touches like bottled water in the room. The windows opened and there were blackout shades on them. We also liked the high ceilings and the character of this historic property, which is quite different from the generic, chain hotel rooms in the surrounding area.
